The Philatelic Lighthouse represents a Simple and Unfashionable Ardour in our present age . The restful and ascetic ardour – as well as decorum - of collecting, assaying, vivifying, magnifying, embroidering, archiving, engaging, and exchanging purposefully and mindfully – those cosmic truths incontained and beneficially illustrated in the vessel and perpetual medium that is a simple effable object appellated as the Postage Stamp.
A Simplicity and Ardour apparently all too callously relinquished by the multitudes of persons, seeking gratifying ends in externalities and themes so big that they have absorbed, assimilated, and entirely extinguished the Lighthouse of the Public of Publics : the Correspondences of Beings in a Space unrestrained by the pathologies of fetters and substituted with a Freedom of Being whose Suchness is as exquisite as only a simple Postage Stamp’s engraveur could have you Know.
The phrase Public of Publics in relation to our allegoric depiction then, is the very Spirit of what Philately signifies to Espouse : the Private man’s Love of Verisimilitude – Union with the realms – in a gentle, appreciative, caring system called Philately : The King of Hobbies and the Hobby of Kings – that is – Collecting Stamps. Yet unlike all the other proferments of the age from which Philately itself was first uttered, this particular dimension of Time and Space does not posit systematic or even systematization of interchange. It but rather seeks to absorb and relish, and nurture and resound, soak and unhinge and even tweeze upon the simple truths of living and dying, coming and passing – in sublime transcendences of Air Mail, Express Mail, Surface Mail, Sea Mail, Media Mail, First Class Mail, Priority Mail, and all kinds of artful variations of paper transmissions – entailing touch, scent, color, subtlety, and engraveur carrying the imprint of the interpersonal humanisable parts of our Civilization of Life and Living Sentiences, irreducibly simplified in the arc of the Collector’s Quiet Den, where deep things deepen and cultivate in the heart of the Philatelist serenely expanding the ageless scopes of the Mind – and a manifold cosmology is thus and so birthed in nuances of guileless romanticism, - involving the measuring and honoring of diverseness, assortment, and True Variety as termed ; Pioneering by the Virtue of its simplicity of Being, a “Natural Hierarchy of Values” without the embroilment of those dogmatic and loud – yet – affectionate words of affinitude .
The Public of Publics, the Private Realms – Philately – Sacralizes both as well merits as the Third Conception – the Collector himself/herself its vital pronouncement in Form and Function.
Yet ( Philately ) does not , on account of it being a Universal, and Truly Emancipated and Natural and Unpretentious vehicle of self-perpetuated Goodwill – does not on such account require to be in and of itself Governed – free though it forever remains in its natural associations and affiliations , in its essential and elemental Universality, in its peculiar and ever expanding illustrative languages and endless idioms , As If to Suggest to the harangued Senses and Doings – Well and Ill - of Men, the more refined and purposive Wisdom trove of the natural and celestial ages of Being and Going and Proceeding and Becoming – is but a passing of one reminiscing lighthouse unto the next – one fresh and invigorative sip of serendipity unto the other - that all of our agitations and vituperations and confabulations in this day of age is perhaps much Ado about Nothing, with Philately offering Us Something Fine by which to Be in Fair Value stead of, - Not - to Be, if that is Really the Eternal Question , of which Philatelic Silence ought utter and permeate for itself as a Symbolic Pointer unto the Absolute Truth.
